Yesterday (Thursday) I took my first CPA Exam. It was the Business and Economics section, and it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. There's all this anticipation of the most difficult exam ever written, with all kinds of trick questions and obscure topics that you didn't even study. But it turned out to be surprisingly fair and straight-forward. At least I think it was.
I won't really know for up to 6 weeks how I did on the exam. Which, I might add, is ridiculous, considering that the BEC section of the CPA currently doesn't even have simulations (work-out problems). So it's just 90 multiple choice questions, and that apparently takes up to 6 weeks to grade. I don't know about you, but the BYU Testing Center could have my multiple choice exams graded before I made it down two flights of stairs. That's maybe 60 seconds. At most. If I had to tie my shoe on the way. Ridiculous.
However, I feel pretty good about it. Now it's time to play the waiting game and possibly start studying for another exam. Which to do next? Will it be the dreaded Regulation (taxes, ewww)? How about the feared and loathed Financial? Or will I take the longest of the four in Auditing? I guess it'll depend on how busy I am with work and fun. For now, I'm just glad to have taken BEC and (hopefully) be done with it. Happy studying!
So did you pass?
