It was an eventful Saturday evening. We went to the multi-stake chili cookoff and there were too many kinds of chili to try. The ones I did try were quite tasty though. Especially the white beans, of which I was skeptical at first but was quickly converted. My friend Melissa Stevenson took first prize for her chili, due to its tastiness and also its presentation. She lent Becca and me some of her props and we cowboyed up.A whole bunch of friends were interested in going dancing after the cookoff, and, after some organizational consternation, we headed into Adams Morgan to a favorite little spot of ours: Eighteenth & Red. The music was great and we all danced until well after midnight. Our favorite was near the end of the night, when they played "Don't Stop Believin" by Journey. We all sang along at the top of our lungs.
