Ingrid Michaelson Gets Me

I heard of Ingrid Michaelson for the first time when a friend shared "The Way I Am" with me.

Loved the song.
Loved the music video, too.

Some of her songs are simple, some are complex, but I like that I can relate to a lot of her songs.

She seems to think like me on a lot of topics, or at least her songs convey messages I agree with.
Equality, being non-judgmental, and of course various aspects of dating/love.

Perhaps it helps that my new glasses are kinda like hers.
But more than likely that has nothing to do with it.

Yesterday, Rachel introduced me (via her blog) to this nice Elvis Presley cover by Ingrid:

"(I Can't Help) Falling in Love with You"

In case that wasn't enough for you to decide if you like her stuff or not, here are two more:

"You and I"

"Blood Brothers"

Are you convinced yet? I hope so.

If not, that's okay. I'll take you the way you are.

  1. Her cover of '(I can't help) Falling in Love With You' is possibly my favorite of any cover I've heard. It's a major contender for a top spot in a very special life event (which I can't reveal because A: it's irrelevant right now and B: I don't want anyone stealing my idea!)

    1. I've never seen her live, but I'd love to. She doesn't have any west coast shows on her schedule right now, so I hope she adds some soon.

    1. Hi Katey! Thanks for reading my blog! I checked out your stuff, and I like it. "Two Birds" and "Under These Tires" were two of my favorites. Do you ever tour through Utah?
