Conference Weekend

General Conference is always a fun weekend. It's a great spiritual boost and it's a great time for friends to get together. On Saturday night, my roommates and I went to the Priesthood session and then went out for some Outback steakhouse. We watched Sunday morning session at our apartment (many thanks to ComCast for showing it) and followed that with brunch at Brooke and Janilee's.For Saturday afternoon session, the Crown Royal girls organized a gathering at their place to watch on the projector screen, and we were happy to attend. Watching with friends or family makes the experience even more enjoyable, though maybe it's a tad harder to concentrate. The big event for this General Conference was the sustaining of our new prophet, President Thomas S. Monson. He is very experienced in Church leadership and as always he has plenty of great stories to share, but even more than that you could just feel that the Lord had called Pres. Monson to be his prophet at this time, and Pres. Monson spoke with the confidence of one called by the Lord. We'll miss President Hinckley, but it is an exciting time to have a new prophet, too.
Sometimes you feel like a nut. A totally awesome rocker nut, that is.
