Turkey Day at Disneyland

I love my family. I love Kaitlyn. I love SoCal. It turned into the perfect storm of Thanksgiving happiness.

Wednesday: I flew out to LA and Kaitlyn picked me up from the airport. We met up with Justin and Emily at In-N-Out, and it was a fun, though brief, reunion. It was pretty late, so we went back to Kaitlyn's for some cheesecake followed by a good night's rest, because the next day would be a fun, long one.
Thursday: Kaitlyn gave me a ride to the motel where I and my family stayed, and I was ecstatic to see my kinfolk. We played all day at Disneyland and went on a bunch of the great rides, including but not certainly not limited to: Buzz Lightyear Space Rangers, Star Tours, Finding Nemo, Mad Hatter's Tea Cups, and Pirates of the Caribbean. After a long day, we finally headed back to the motel, and Peter, Adam, and I topped the night off with a dip in the hottub.
Friday: We got off to an early Smyth-start, which means sometime around 10:30. We again rocked some great rides, such as Splash Mountain (where I got absolutely drenched by being in the front of a boat with 6 adults in it), the Haunted Mansion, Indiana Jones, and the River Cruise (a family favorite due to the ever-witty tour guides).
Kaitlyn picked me up from Disneyland around 4 PM, and we had a wonderful afternoon and evening going to Laguna Beach, eating at Le Creperie, having Starbucks caramel apple cider with Kyle & Kim Legones (both girls, FYI), and watching Dear Frankie (a great foreign film with maybe the best kiss I've ever seen on film). Saturday: It was our last day at Disneyland, so we made it count. We hit up California Adventure today and went over to the Magic Kingdom in the evening for a second ride on our favorites. We did many rides, including California Screamin, California Adventure, the Aladdin show (which bored Gunner except for the elephant and flying carpet), Muppets 3D show (A,L,&G picture below), Ants show (which made Gunner cry), and the greatest ride of them all--Space Mountain. We also saw a small-stage performance that resulted in Megan meeting Cinderella and Gunner meeting Woody, which they were both really excited about.
When we got back to the motel after our long day, Kaitlyn came over and we all played cards and goofed around. Naturally, we had a little dance party as well.
Sunday: We all had breakfast together one last time, then my family went in their car to the airport and Kaitlyn took me to the airport. We really didn't want to say goodbye, so we talked for a long time and hugged for just as long, but eventually I had to go. On my flight home, I was so happy that I had been able to fly to SoCal for so much fun and time with my family and Kaitlyn.
